Personas, User reseach- under Covid-situations?

Hi I'm working on a project for a hospital where we need to upgrade an existing product used by hospital cleaners to make this product even more effective. The end-users are the cleaners/cleaner-leaders employed by the hospital that commissioned the project.

How much do you think we need to have a persona for a project like this? Questionnaire is faster and it can collect more data, but abstract.

How would you do it in this Covid-19- situation where interviews are not possible ? (two hospitals already said No under this situation)

During the Covid situation, you could use online interview such as zoom, and also there many other online tools for interview. 2. Please confirm the key persona/ users first, and list the questionnaire at first, so that it can save you time. Do more preparations before you start .

I am relatively new to the project and the end users are cleaners who by tap on the Ipad confirm the work done. (simplified explanation: in three steps 1. selecting 2. verified 3. confirm)

Do you have any good tips for the non-abstract questions-list to skip answers Yes / No. We need to explore more deeply one function in the program we are developing..

For example, cleaners who clean offices have different tasks than cleaners in hospitals who have specific tasks.

To come up with answers, more research is needed leading to the next question. What list of questions to ask and where to find inspiration for questions?
