Seems that Sketch wanna catch-up with their competitors, since most of them raised pretty big amount of money.

InVision is one of them. Just three months ago, the design collaboration startup raised $115 million in Series F funding at a $1.9 billion valuation. More recently, Figma, another design player, sealed up $40 million in Series C funding in a round that brings its total funding to $82.9 million and its valuation to $440 million.

Looks like that Sketch is focusing more on collaboration and improving their Sketch Cloud

Sketch is also bringing its tools to the browser starting later this year so users can render an entire document, add developer handoff, and allow editing along with collaboration, all without the need to leave the browser.

Sketch 2018 highlights:

  • Crossed 1,000,000 paying customersā€Šā€”ā€ŠWe achieved an historic milestone with over a million designers now using Sketch.
  • We supercharged Libraries by allowing you to upload and share them via Sketch Cloud, and made significant improvements to Symbol overridesā€Šā€”ā€Šgiving you more control over which overrides are exposed and letting you override more elements than ever before.
  • We introduced Prototyping and made it super easy to share working prototypes via Sketch Cloud.

Sketch in Browser would be amazing! I wonder if that would mean all of their features because they proud thenselves on building upon native MAC OS elements. We'll see!

Yeah, everybody talks about that. But what they are trying to say is that they gonna focus on Sketch Cloud in browser.

However, if Sketch could become browser app, which mean cross-platform access for everyone, that would be huge step
